Named after the Late Padmashree (Dr.) Krutartha Acharya, a great philanthropist, academician
and pioneer in co-operative movement in the country, Padmashree Krutartha Acharya College of Engineering was
established in 2002 which dedicated its service to enrich and enhance the standard of Technical Education in Orissa.
The College has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Orissa.
The college was established in 2002 at the present campus with its own infrastructure. It started with 4 branches
offering B.E degree from Sambalpur University. Subsequently as the BPUT Act was passed by the Orissa Legislative
Assembly in 2002, the college as affiliated to BPUT, Orissa. From 2003 onwards the college offers B.Tech. degrees in 5 branches.
The courses offered here are according to the need of the global market. With the comprehensive learning along
with the facilities available in the state of the art laboratories, overall personality of the students develop significantly by
which they would be able to compete in the global economy and find a better position.

Location
The college is situated on NH-6 in a 35 acre lush green environment. The college is well connected to every corner of the nation by rail and road.
It is at half hour drive from the main town of Bargarh which is surrounded by industries like INDAL, MCL, IB Thermal, ACC Cement, Jindal Steel, Ordnance Factory,
Ultratech Cement, Bhushan Steel, SpS Steel, Sterlite, Vedanta Alumina, Aditya Steel, TATA Refractories Ltd., OHPC and many small and medium scale industries. Known as
the "Rice bowl" of Orissa, Bargarh is famous for cultivation of rice and Sambalpuri Handloom. World's largest earth dam "Hirakud" is only 40 km away from the town.
